If you’ve ever called a cleaning company and felt unsure whether to ask for a “regular clean” or a “deep clean,” you’re not alone. It’s one of the most common questions we receive at Sander & Sol Cleaning. While both services leave your home looking and feeling better, they serve very different purposes — and choosing the right one can save you time, money, and frustration.
What Is Regular Housekeeping?
Regular housekeeping — also called maintenance cleaning — is designed for homes that are already reasonably clean and need consistent upkeep. Think of it as preventive care. During a standard housekeeping visit, our team focuses on the visible and everyday surfaces: vacuuming floors, mopping tile, wiping down counters and appliances, cleaning bathrooms, making beds, and emptying trash.
This type of service works best for clients who schedule cleanings weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. It keeps your home in a consistently clean state without requiring extensive time or effort. For busy families in Venice and Nokomis, regular housekeeping is often the most practical and cost-effective solution.
What Is Deep House Cleaning?
Deep cleaning goes beyond the surface. It addresses the buildup, grime, and forgotten areas that regular cleaning doesn’t typically cover. In a deep clean, our team tackles things like inside the oven and refrigerator, scrubbing grout lines, cleaning behind large appliances, washing baseboards, wiping down light switches and door frames, cleaning window sills, and removing soap scum buildup from shower walls and tub fixtures.
Deep cleaning is more time-intensive and thorough. It’s designed to reset a home to a baseline level of cleanliness that can then be maintained with regular visits.
When Should You Book a Deep Cleaning?
There are several situations where a deep clean is the right call. If you’re a new homeowner moving into a property, or a renter preparing to leave, a deep clean ensures nothing is missed. If your home hasn’t been professionally cleaned in several months — or ever — starting with a deep clean gives our team a solid foundation to work from.
Seasonal transitions are also a great opportunity. Many of our clients in Sarasota and Osprey schedule a deep clean in spring or early fall to coincide with the change in seasons and prepare for hosting guests.
Which One Is Right for You?
As a general rule: if your home is already clean but needs maintenance, regular housekeeping is the right choice. If it’s been a while since a thorough cleaning, or if you’re dealing with a special circumstance (new home, post-renovation, end of tenancy), deep cleaning is the better investment.
Many of our clients start with a one-time deep clean and then transition to a recurring housekeeping schedule. In our experience, that combination delivers the best long-term results — a home that’s not just clean, but consistently, reliably clean.
Not Sure? We Can Help You Decide
If you’re still unsure which service fits your needs, our team is happy to talk through it with you. We’ve been cleaning homes throughout Venice, North Port, Englewood, and beyond since 2011, and we know how to assess what a home actually needs — not just what sounds good on paper.
